The Communication and Information master's degree will prepare you for professional and management positions in communication organizations. It also provides excellent preparation if you plan to pursue related doctoral studies.
We offer four areas of concentration:
Because our C&I master’s program is interdisciplinary, in addition to gaining in-depth knowledge of a concentration area, you will also be exposed to other areas of communication and information and have access to all of the nationally recognized faculty members in the College of Communication and Information.
You may choose either a project or a thesis as the capstone to your program. The master's program prepares you with tactical skills and managerial training that support work in communication organizations and related career fields. If this is your direction, you will be encouraged to pursue the project option. The master's program is also good preparation for entering a doctoral program. If you plan to pursue a doctoral degree, you will be encouraged to complete the thesis option.
As part of the C&I MS program, you will have professional and research opportunities including: applied projects, scholarships, research projects, study abroad, scholarships, and specialized labs.
