CMST 509 Communication and Ethnography

(3) Theory and application of qualitative approaches to communication research. Emphasis is on ethnographic methods to obtain in-depth information about behaviors and beliefs of people in natural settings. Use of methods: structured interviews using heuristic elicitation methodology, participant/observation and case studies.
